Newsletter–January/2010

In an article recently published on GreenBiz.com entitled 2010: The Year for a Surge in Energy Efficiency, Nathan Rothman states: “Efficiency achieved by applying new technologies equals job growth, energy security and saving green. That’s a winning combination that I believe will grow exponentially in 2010 and the decade that follows.” We couldn’t agree more. Now is the time for energy efficiency. It is time to cut your carbon output, save money and create a competitive advantage.
Keeping with the article’s mention of new technology, this past month we unveiled a new product called Acuity APEX. APEX allows for facility level real-time energy management, utilizing existing utility meters. This product has proved tremendous value as a standalone system, but also serves to enhance the offering of those customers sub-metering within their facilities. Changes and process improvement within the facility can now be viewed on a macro level and help you better understand your bill, total facility usage, and demand. APEX can aid in power procurement decisions, reducing demand charges, better assessing curtailment plans, benchmarking efficiency improvements, and creating and monitoring company wide efficiency goals.
Our web-based portal has continued to make great strides and is now offering customers increased value. Historic interval data upload, improved demand and usage alerting, and more in-depth reporting will become standard features of software version 2.0, expected to go live this Friday. These improvements along with our continuous consultative approach better position Agentis to serve as your company’s “Chief Energy Officer.”
The Acuity Solution was also recently added to the Department of Energy (DOE) Building Energy Software Tools Directory. We have recently become an approved Trade Ally contractor in ComEd’s Smart Ideas for Your Business Program, which serves the retrofit energy efficiency needs of commercial and industrial clients in the ComEd service territory. For those of you in the ComEd region, we will be exhibiting at the ComEd Energy Efficiency Expo on May 19th. The event will be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.
We have many encouraging announcements on the horizon and look forward to sharing them with you over the coming months. Visit us at agentisenergy.com for additional company and industry news surrounding energy efficiency. We hope you make 2010 your year for energy efficiency and if given the chance to act as your Chief Energy Officer, we welcome the opportunity to help you better understand your energy usage and save you money.
